This document describes an international platform called Makewaves that allows young people to earn open badges by completing challenges. Over 53,000 badges have been awarded to 26,000 students from 1,400 schools. Students enjoy discovering and earning badges and helping each other learn. Teachers have seen students become more eager to try new things due to Makewaves.
