He is also given credit for forming the basis of modern alternating current, also known as AC. Tesla was a big rival of Edison. He invented many things that we use in our everyday lives. ???? I picked Nikola Tesla to do my project on because I read a book over the summer called Distant Waves .? Tesla played a big role in the story and I was interested in him ever since.? Diary Entry?? ? 1861 Dear Diary, I miss Dane so much. I feel as though I have a heart ache. My dear brother was killed in a horse-back riding accident yesterday. The funeral is planned to be tonight. Dad won¡¯t even talk. Mom tells me we will move to Gospic. But I don¡¯t want to go. I rather be in the same place that I would wake up everyday and see my only brother. Nikola
The?Tesla Coil is Introduced? ? November 24, 1891 Associated Press - Nikola Tesla has once again made an amazing new invention. He calls it the ¡°Tesla coil¡±. It produces high current, high voltage, and high frequency AC electricity. The uses for this technology are limitless. He uses the coils to do other experiments having to do with electricity. It operates differently than a conventional transformer. The Tesla coil¡¯s windings are more loosely winded than a conventional transformer. The coils are used in sparkgap radio transmitters.
Tesla¡¯s Timeline Born on July 10, 1856 in Smiljan, Austrian Empire 1861 - Brother,??Dane, was killed in a horse-back riding accident 1882 - Moved to Paris, France 1884 - Emigrated to the US to work for Edison 1891 - Demonstrated wireless energy transmission 1891 - Tesla coil is invented 1895 - Designed first hydroelectric power plant at Niagara Falls 1896 - Patented the basis system of radio 1899 - Moved to Colorado Springs, California where he did high frequency experiments 1906 - Demonstrated bladeless turbine 1917 - Awarded the Edison Medal Died on January 7th, 1943 in the Hotel New Yorker at age 86

Schools NikolaTesla studied electrical engineering the University of Graz for 3 years. He attended Realschule, Karlstadt in 1873 . Tesla studied at the University of Prague for only 1 term.
