The NOGESI Battle Lab project applies the Layered Simulation Architecture (LSA) to provide a common distributed simulation platform for the Spanish Ministry of Defense. The LSA approach converges multiple simulation standards, including DIS, HLA, and CBML, onto a common data bus based on DDS middleware. This improves interoperability, reusability, and composability of simulations. It also demonstrates plug-and-play capabilities for reconfiguring simulations and supports reuse of simulation assets as services.
