Nouns can be countable or uncountable, singular or plural, concrete or abstract, common or proper, and collective. Countable nouns can be counted while uncountable nouns cannot. Singular nouns refer to one object and plural nouns refer to more than one. Concrete nouns refer to tangible things that can be perceived by senses while abstract nouns refer to intangible things like ideas and qualities. Common nouns are general names for people, places, or things and proper nouns are the specific names of people, places, or things. Collective nouns refer to a group of objects or people.
