This document outlines a multicenter study assessing the safety of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) as postoperative analgesics. The study aims to audit NSAID use in current British surgical practice and its effects on postoperative adverse events. Data will be collected on consecutive patients undergoing bowel resection over a 14-day period at multiple collaborating sites. The study aims to establish a student network for clinical audit and research. It discusses distinguishing audits from research and ensuring data quality.
