Dispensation
Ref Patient & episode id -10691330
? Dispensation comes after “New Enrolment” and before the
“Diagnostic (Add test)” module
? In Dispensation section, medical prescriptions and advises for the TB
treatments can be added
? Patients can be searched through the episode ID and Dispensation ID
to check their previous prescriptions and history, where required

1>Why Prescription Module is getting replaced with Dispensation Module
We are replacing the Prescription module with the new “Dispensation” module for following reasons:
● The fields that were part of the current Prescription module was not always relevant
● No linkage to when Drug Refills were due for patients
● No option to Print and Copy Products from previous prescriptions
● No differentiation between when the drugs were prescribed, when the drugs were provided and when
the dosage starts
● No option to return the drugs issued to patients
● No Linkage between Drugs Prescribed to Adherence
This module will be available for all patients in the following stages:
● On Treatment
● Outcome Assigned

1. Enter the “Date of Prescription”
2. Type of Regimen gets auto-populated based on the Test Results
3. Enter the “Date of Dispensation”
4. “Weight Band” is getting auto-populated based on the patients’ primary data

6. Enter the “Current Weight”
9. Select the “Drug Issuing Facility Type” from these three options
10. Select the “Drug Issuing Facility Name” from the
drop down option

7. Enter the dosing start date as per the
prescription, it is a mandatory field

8. Enter number of days of dispensation as per
the prescription, it is a mandatory field
1. Click on “Add” if required to add more product(s)
2. Select the “Source” from the list
3. Select the prescribed product name from the drop down option, it is
a mandatory field
4. It is an auto-populated field based on the chosen product
5. Enter the “Quantity” as per the prescription, it is a mandatory field
6. Click on “Delete”, if required to delete the added product
Note: * This source list is visible to Chemist & Pvt HF Facility type, whereas for PHI facility the product source shall on le be “NTEP”
4> Enter / Add Dispensation> Product & Refill details and Remarks
9. Enter remarks, if any
11. Click here to add the dispensation
10. This message pops up after successful addition of a dispensation

4> How to get the print of a Dispensation> Click on Dispensation ID
Click on the Dispensation ID to check each
dispensation details and to get a print of the
selected dispensation / prescription
Patient’s dispensation details can be checked by entering
any of the Episode Id or Dispensation ID from here

Print preview of a Dispensation looks as below:

list of the dispensation
Click here to take the print of the dispensation

Click here to return any of the
prescribed medicines, if required
5> Return Dispensation
Patient’s dispensation details can be checked by entering
any of the Episode Id or Dispensation ID from here

Enter the quantity of the
medicines which is to be returned
Return dispensation details shown as below,
click on back to go to list of dispensations
Select a reason of the return from the drop down
options, a mandatory field for return dispensations
Click here to complete the return
of the Dispensation
This message pops up after successful return of a dispensation

History of return dispensation can be seen under patient’s page , which can be navigated through
patient’s name or the patient’s ID from Patient management or direct from the Search cases

6> Copy products from previous Dispensation
Click here to copy medicine / products from the previous
Dispensation,
this facility is available from the second dispensation record
Product details are getting copied from the previous dispensation including source, product name and quantities

6> Refill Due Tasklist
For every Dispensation added, Next Refill Due Date is shown
Click on Task list in Nikshay Side bar > go to Refill Due to
check the list of patients and their refill due dates

7> Refill Due Tasklist> Report
Refill Due list is shown as below
Next Refill due date is getting calculated on the basis of
Dispensation days entered less 2 days

8> Outcome assignment changes
Based on the last Dispensation days entered in the system, outcomes end date
for the patient gets changed in the Nikshay

8> Outcome assignment changes
Patient Notes also get added with the changes made in the outcome end date I.e. it
got extended from 4/20/2021 to 7/13/2021 based on the entry made against the patient
ID

9> Adherence-Dispensation Correlation
2. Click on “Yes” in order to enable the “Adherence and Dispensation
Correlation” feature. And, once it is marked as “Yes”, it shall not allow
manual doses to be marked unless there is an active dispensation

3. Click on Update
to save the revised
settings

9> Adherence-Dispensation Correlation
Once the feature is selected / On, then any manual dose addition shall not
be allowed in Nikshay and the following error message shall appear:
