Nuclear power provides significant benefits to several countries by generating electricity and powering military and medical equipment. The United States, Russia, South Korea, Canada, India, Japan, and Switzerland all rely on nuclear energy for a substantial portion of their electricity needs, between 15-20% for most countries and 39.9% for Switzerland. Nuclear power is also used to produce nuclear weapons and medical isotopes as well as power military and medical devices.
