President Obama made a historic 7-9 November 2010 visit to India, the longest visit to a foreign country of his presidency. During the visit, President Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama met with Indian leaders and participated in cultural events and town halls in Mumbai and New Delhi. They toured historical sites, interacted with students and underprivileged children, and addressed business leaders to strengthen US-India relations. Protesters demonstrated against Obama's visit, but he and Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh expressed a desire to deepen economic and strategic cooperation between their countries.
