Microbeads are small plastic particles found in cosmetics like exfoliating creams and toothpastes that are about 1 millimeter in size. They are a risk because water treatment plants cannot filter them out, so they end up in oceans and affect marine life. Some solutions proposed are banning microbeads from products and improving water treatment to remove microbeads.
2. WHAT THEY
ARE
Microbeads are solid plastic
particles and we can find this
particles usually in cosmetics
his size is an approximation of
a millimetre
3. WHERE CAN YOU FIND
THEM
We can usually find these particles in
exfoliating creams and toothpastes
These particles are added for lubrication and
that has an effect of scraping and because
that is so used in exfoliating creams
4. RISKS OF THESE PARTICLES
These particles do not be filtered out by water treatment plants and then
arrive at the sea where affect plants, fish... ETC
In some countries already are eliminating these particles and others limit
them
5. SOLUTIONS
Some solutions could be rid of these
particles, make a cleaning of them and
improve water treatment plants to debug
these particles
