AKWATYX launches the OceanConnected project, which uses an interactive console called Dolphyn to allow users to stream and share live underwater videos from snorkeling and scuba diving. The console provides augmented reality information about points of interest and local wildlife. A dedicated web platform geo-locates points of interest for the console and allows internet users to view live underwater video streams. The goal is to use digital technologies to bring ocean discovery and exploration to more people.

1. Ocean Connected
AKWATYX launches the OceanConnected project, based on the first subaquatic smart
object, the Dolphyn interactive console and its dedicated collaborative web platform.
Our mission: bring ocean discovery and exploration to all through digital technologies
and create the Internet of the Seas!
SNORKELING: Our solution allows users to stream and share their
live underwater videos, with their family who stayed onboard the
boat, on the beach or with their friends connected to our web
platform. Users can also experience Augmented Reality enhanced
underwater trails. Snorkelers, equipped with a console can have
access to local information describing Points of Interest and the
local sea life that have been previously geo-positioned on the
dedicated web platform by nearby diving clubs. Geo-caching games
and participative science missions can be organized to transform
the sea into an interactive and edutaining playground.
SCUBA DIVING: professional divers, equipped with a console,
connected to a surface communications buoy, can share their
underwater exploration with people stayed on board or with
Internet users connected to our dedicated platform for live video
streaming. A dive centre can therefore reach thousands of
people throughout the world and stay connected with their
community; marine biologists can organize underwater
videoconferences with schools, with Internet users¡

2. Interactive and connected underwater consoles
The Akwatyx patented consoles DOLPHYN? are the first mobile aquatic interactive devices. It
integrates a 10,1 inch tablet PC, a Wi-Fi/LTE antenna, a GPS, a HD webcam, joysticks as well as
other types of sensors. Aquatic and digital environments are merged and therefore, constitute a
unique immersive universe offering new opportunities to discover and explorer the oceans in an
interactive, connected and fun way.
Dedicated collaborative web platform
The AKWATYX web platform has been developed in
order to geo-localize the different points of interests
that the console users might encounter while
snorkeling or diving. The related information will ¡°pop-
up¡± in Augmented Reality on the console¡¯s screen as
soon as the user will enter into a specific area. He will
have some synthetic information about the POI and
will be advised to observe the nearby environment in
order to find the spot or local species of fishes. Once
encountered, the user can take a picture or film and
share it on the Internet if the console is connected. The
platform is also the access point for Internet users that
wish to view LIVE underwater streaming videos.
