                                        Cause and Effect Essay

Odysseus landed on a little island off their coast and since it has been left it inhabited , through

it teamed with wildlife.

After the war, Odysseus and his men land at the island of the Cyclopes. Take and steal all the

food and also they party at the cave.

When the Cyclopes - Polyphemus was his name came home that afternoon, he blotted out the

light in the cave doorway. He was tall and ragged as an alp. One huge eye glared out of the center of his

forehead. This particular eye and the choice of Odysseus makes about this eye will change their

journey greatly.

Odysseus and his men passed a miserable night and then watched the Cyclops make breakfast

of two more of their companions. When the Cyclopes went out to pasture his flock, he pulled the

boulder closed behind him. It was up to Odysseus to make a plan. Odysseus found a tree trunk that the

Cyclops intended for a walking stick. They cut off a six-foot section, skinned it, put a sharp point on

one end and hardened it in the fire. Then Odysseus hid it under a pile of manure.

When morning arrived they decided to give the Cyclopes some of their most special liquor and make

the Cyclopes drunk. After all those cups of liquor the Cyclopes dropped drunk to the floor. Thats when

Odysseus decided to make his plan work and stood on the Cyclopes and blinded him. Polyphemus

came awake with a roar, tore the spike from his eye and began groping for us in his blindness. His

screams of frustration and rage brought the neighboring Cyclopes went to the mouth of the cave. One
of the Cyclopes brother heard him screaming and came to ask him what was wrong and he said It's

Nobody!' bellowed Polyphemus. when the brother knew and understood that nothing was wrong he

decided to leave him alone thats when Polyphemus decided to open the cave. And as soon as the

Cyclopes open the cave Odysseus and his men started running out the the caves mouth, but it wasn't

going to be easy. So Odysseus and his men decided to put cheep skin so the blind Cyclopes would not

recognize them and they would leave safety to their next journey. Odysseus started tenting him right

away saying O cyclopes! Would you feats my companions? Punny ,am I, in hands in a caves man

hands? How do you like the beating we gave you, you dammed cannibal? Eater of guests under your

roof! and the Cyclopes reply Don't worry Odysseus I will get you and I would tell my dad and you

would be punish.

The Cyclopes got so mad that he decides to trow a piece of a mountain that would hopefully for

the Cyclopes it would destroy the ship. Lucky for Odysseus and his men that didn't happened and the

God of wind and God of water make his journey harder by giving him big waves and a lot of wind that

would eventually end up in many storm and added 7 more years to his journey. And after all they end

up escaping from the mean Cyclopes. Towards their next long and dangerous journey. And they would

actually feel good about their success.
