Paddy the collie-labrador cross learned to use a neighbor's children's trampoline to jump over the garden fence and follow his owner, Thomas McCormack, to the train station for his commute to work. A neighbor witnessed Paddy's trampoline trick and fence-jumping escape act. When Paddy sat down next to McCormack on the train, McCormack was confused about how his pet had followed him until the neighbor revealed Paddy's trampoline escape routine. Two off-duty nurses, Heather Jones and Tracy Shenton, saved the life of a fellow jogger, Alison Lyons, during a training run for a half-marathon. Lyons' heart stopped four times

Rescue: Alison Lyons
TWO off-duty nurses raced to save the life
of a mother-of-two whose heart
stopped four times while training
for a half-marathon.
Heather Jones, 36, and Tracy
Shenton, 43, were in the running
club Stoke F.I.T. when fellow
jogger Alison Lyons col-
lapsed.
The pair had to use
CPR to resuscitate the un-
conscious 49-year-old four
times while they waited for
paramedics in Stoke-on-Trent.
Speaking yesterday from her bedside at
Royal Stoke University Hospital, Ms
Lyons said: I am just so grate-
ful that they knew exactly
what to do. I wont be put off
going back to running in the
future.
Ms Jones, a midwife,
added: If she had been
on her own I think the
outcome would have
been very different.
