The 9th annual Ohio Healthcare Information Technology Day (OHIT Day) is a collaborative effort between Central & Southern Ohio Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (CSOHIMSS), the Northern Ohio Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (NOHIMSS), the Ohio Health Information Management Association (OHIMA), HIMSS Innovation Center, eHealth Ohio, Ohio Hospital Association, Battelle and other organizations to bring the issue of healthcare information technology (Health IT) to the forefront of the political discussion. OHIT Day is held at the Ohio Statehouse Atrium & Legislative Offices in Columbus to directly engage state officials and address Health IT for the benefit all Ohioans. Theme: Opioid Addiction & the Ohio Automated Prescription Reporting System and the PMP Gateway funding in the Ohio Budget. Reducing barriers to HIE interoperability

7. OHIT Day Policy Asks
Continue to support policies that reduce barriers to
interoperability like the PMP Gateway for OARRS.
Support policies to increase HIE utilization to support
coordination of care across the care continuum in Ohio
consistent with national standards.
Support the funding of health IT jobs and workforce
development programs needed to implement the health IT
objectives and regulatory changes in Ohio.
