The Omaha Nation Culture Walk is a semester-long program with four sessions that aims to educate participants about the Omaha Nation reservation located just north of Omaha, Nebraska. The first meeting will provide an overview of statistics and information about the Omaha Nation at UNO. The second meeting will involve traveling to the Omaha Nation to work with students in their public schools. The third meeting will discuss culturally responsive teaching strategies as they relate to the Omaha Nation. The fourth meeting will be a virtual reflection on the Culture Walk experience and its impact. The program offers personal and professional benefits for participants such as increasing understanding of the local community and better preparing for teaching careers.

Just over an hour north of Omaha is Macy,
Nebraska, home of the Omaha Nation. The
reservation is a place with a very distinct and
rich cultural heritage. Residents of the
