- 1. Operation E.SPARK Elective Surgical Procedure Along with Retrieval of Kidney
- 2. OBJECTIVES To increase the number of kidney transplant in the Philippines To save human lives through transplant
- 3. ULTERIOR MOTIVE Sweet talk unwilling victims who are scheduled to undergo an elective surgical procedure to donate their kidney. Convince the financially challenged donor that he/she will be paid for his/her good deed.
- 4. MECHANICS 1. The group will be divided to several teams, composing of 2-3 members each. 2. The teams, also known as the sweet talkers will be assigned to different areas in the Philippines. 3. Each team will visit all government hospitals in their respective area.
- 5. MECHANICS 4. Each group will talk to the Surgery or OB/Gyn residents regarding recruiting patients scheduled for elective surgeries like cholecystectomy or myomectomy to be possible kidney donors as well. 5. The residents will be advised to call the sweet talkers everytime they see a potential donor in the OPD.
- 6. MECHANICS 6. For every referral that a resident makes, he/she will be given P1,000.00. If the patient agrees to donate, the resident will be given an additional P4,000.00. 7. Once the sweet talkers get to speak with the patient, it will be explained to him/her that should he/she agrees to donate his/her kidney while undergoing the elective procedure, the E.SPARK will pay for the preoperative work-ups, including tissue typing and other donor work up, hospitalization, and follow up.
- 7. MECHANICS 8. Once the tissue type is determined, it will be matched to the master list of possible recipients for kidney transplant.
- 8. MECHANICS 8. The patient will also be given an additional P100,000.00 as donation for his/her good deed. 9. During the day of the operation, the E.SPARK will bring in their own transplant team to harvest the kidney.
