This document compares organic and conventional food. Organic food is grown without chemicals, hormones, pesticides, or radiation. It follows standards for soil health, humane animal treatment, and prohibiting synthetic inputs, GMOs, irradiation and sewage sludge. Studies show organic fruits and vegetables contain more antioxidants. While organic food is more expensive and may not last as long, its advantages include protecting the environment, supporting local farmers, conservation practices, and being free of chemicals and pesticides.
