Virginia Tech's Conference and Guest Services holds an orientation each year to prepare for incoming students. Employees are involved in setting up rooms, working check-ins, and manning the front desk. Preparations include ordering and receiving linens daily and hiring staff. During orientation, the crew cleans rooms, refills them with linens, and returns dirty linens. Now that orientation is over, leftover linens must be cleaned up and returned, and rooms must be stripped of pillows. For the future, hiring a larger crew is suggested to work more efficiently, as is holding training seminars and improving housekeeping relationships.
