4. What is the Gilman Scholarship?
The Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship Program offers grants for U.S. citizen
undergraduate students of limited financial means to pursue academic studies or credit-bearing,
career-oriented internships abroad.
5. What do they look for in applicants?
Applicants choosing to study or intern in non-traditional locations,
especially outside of Western Europe, Australia, or New Zealand.
Applicants traditionally under-represented in education abroad (i.e.
those with high financial needs, community college students, students
in underrepresented fields, students with diverse ethnic backgrounds,
students with disabilities).
