The document discusses the Line of Control (LOC) between India and Pakistan over the disputed Kashmir region. It provides background on the division of Kashmir after 1947, with India controlling 48% of the territory, Pakistan controlling 35%, and China controlling 17%. The LOC was intended as a temporary break in fighting but remains the de facto border between Indian and Pakistani controlled parts of Kashmir. There have been three major wars between India and Pakistan over Kashmir as well as continued tensions and border skirmishes.
