The Palm Islands are three large artificial island projects being constructed in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The islands are being built in the shape of palm trees, with residential and commercial areas. The Palm Jumeirah is the smallest island at 5.6 square kilometers, while Palm Deira is the largest at 46.35 square kilometers and won't be completed until around 2015. The islands aim to vastly increase Dubai's beachfront and attract tourism with luxury hotels, resorts, and other amenities.

The Palm Islands, Palm Islands are a group of three artificial islands currently under construction, which are among the world's largest of its kind. On these islands, infrastructure build commercial and residential, it is expected to become a tourist destination.
They are in the seaside city of Dubai in the UAE. The project will increase the surface about 520 km of beaches of Dubai and the company holds Nakheel Properties, which in turn, entrusted the construction and development to the Belgian company Jan de Nul and Van Oord Dutch.
These islands are named after their shape: a date palm. They consist of three main sections: The trunk: Where is the island's main avenue and main entrances are located. Also reached the second part of the island called The fronds: Simulates the foliage of the palm and the three islands, this area is exclusively residential use. Increasing: encircles the island crescent-shaped (hence the name) and acts as a huge breakwater.

It is the second artificial island according to their size (8.4 km 族). Its dimensions are 7 km by 7.5 km. Construction began in 2002. Its design is the most interesting because, as seen from the air, you can read a poem of 84 letters created by 404 houses on the water, one of which read as follows: "Take wisdom from the sage, This leads to a man of vision to write on water. Not everyone who rides the horse is a jockey. Great men have great challenges. In 2007, the design is already built on sand, but there are no houses or any building. It will be one of the hotel chain Trump: The Palm Trump Hotel & Tower Dubai, too, another project already under construction: the Atlantis Tower which was completed in December 2008. The Palm Jumeirah and Jebel Ali in their construction require 100 million cubic meters of rock and sand. The Palm Deira will have a volume of sand and rock ten times greater than the Palm Jumeirah and Jebel Ali. The islands will have large residential areas, villas, apartments, restaurants, theme parks, entertainment areas, marinas, shopping malls and luxury hotels
Finally, the Palm Deira is the largest of the islands and as far outstrips its size. Length is 14 km and 5.5 km wide, occupy an area of approximately 46.35 km 族, soil and rock. Its size is not greater than in Paris. At present, only the works are being initiated to build and probably not completed until 2015.
