Wildfires were burning over 150,000 acres in Palo Pinto County in April 2011, frightening local residents. High winds were predicted to hamper firefighters' efforts to contain the spreading blazes. Photos showed the PK East, PK West, and Hoherz fires burning across the rugged landscape near Graford as seen from highways in the area.
