IBMs Public Health Solution for Disease Surveillance and Management 
(SDSM) provides a single, integrated end-to-end web-based application 
that helps health professionals: 
 Assist in identifying and managing communicable disease contacts 
and cases in a clinical setting, and support public health to contain 
communicable disease spread and reduce risk to the public 
 Support surveillance, investigation, monitoring, management, 
analysis and reporting of communicable disease outbreaks 
 Manage immunization schedules, determine eligibility, and track 
adverse events, exemptions and contraindications 
 Manage vaccine inventory 
 Notify public health professionals so information about critical 
events and emergencies can be shared quickly 
 Manage public health work processes

Out of the box, the Public Health SDSM is 
an easy-to-use solution that can be 
customized to satisfy a public health 
agencys specific processes and data 
requirements. The solution can be 
seamlessly deployed as an integrated 
suite of modules, or by specific 
module(s). As a public health agencys 
needs evolve, additional modules already 
available in the application suite can be 
deployed.

The solution offers a high degree of 
configuration options and multilingual 
support. A key application component is 
the availability of user defined forms, 
which allows users to collect and report 
on unique information with configurable 
data collection forms. 
Powerful ad hoc reporting. 
Authorized users can create ad hoc 
reports and extract data using SAP 
Business Object Universes within the 
application. The SAP Business Objects 
tool is an enterprise strength query and 
reporting application that helps users ask 
questions about application data and 
create reports in an easy to use drag 
and drop manner. 
Unlock information silos. 
To support more efficient and

Health SDSM allows for real-time 
interoperability with other third-party
