Pao was nicknamed "Siopao" as a child because he was fat. He later went by "Pirata" which sounds like his last name "Virata", though being a pirate does not fully describe him. He created a personal brand called "pRUNSViRATA" where the letters stand for his goals of being victorious, achieving results, and achieving totally in all that he does. This personal brand reflects who he is and what he strives for in his work.
