22. Adjustable Active Insulin What is different and what is the same? The 6 hour Active Insulin curve most closely matches the published scientific data on insulin pharmacodynamics. The 515/715 defaults to the 6 hour curve, and we recommend using the default unless prescribed otherwise by a clinician. For simplicity, the curve now stops when less than 5% of active insulin remains. This eliminates the long, low tail that lingered for several more hours, which caused confusion for some patients. To accommodate specific clinician requests, the Active Insulin Curve is now adjustable in 1 hour increments from 2-8 hours.
