This document outlines the vision and goals for a parish over the next year. The vision is to help parishioners discover and live out God's call for them. The focus will be on becoming a parish of prayer and discernment. Success will be measured by growth in participation across ministries and outreach. Parishioners will be called to deepen their faith through daily prayer, study, outreach, and financial support. The pastor will focus on homilies, catechesis, and sacramental ministry.

PARISH VISION: WE WILL HELP YOU DISCOVER GODS CALL FOR YOU; WE WILL HELP YOU LIVE IT. WHATS OUR FOCUS IN YEAR 1: A People of Prayer and Discernment A Parish of Prayer and Discernment WHAT SUCCESS WILL LOOKS LIKE: We know were on the right track when: * Moving the inactive to active; the active to disciples; disciples to apostles. * We feel something different - Joy - and people mention it. * We see the Fruit - 10% growth in new parishioners, ministry participation & finances. * Were not planning off of last years calendar. Six Steps for Seekers of the Spirit: 1. CALL Determine your individual call & personal relationship with Christ 2. COMMIT Live out your call with specific actions this year. 3. CONNECT - with others to whom you are accountable, from whom you gain sustenance, for whom you offer support. 4. COMMUNITY Lets enhance our Sunday Worship Experience together. 5. CARITAS Serve and impact the lives of others one time this year. 6. COMMUNICATION and INVITATION Everyone - Reach Out, Invite To, Bring With. (Every activity, every ministry, every group will grow by 10%, This is "The New Evangelization"). Major Parish Initiatives: Called and Gifted retreat in the Fall. (Fr. Zlock) Prayer Program (Details to TBA) Total child and youth ministry makeover (Youth Minister) The Sunday Experience makeover (Worship Team) Impacting Lives (Pastoral Outreach/Ministry to the Poor) (Don Charlton) Coordination and re-focus of all parish ministries. (Pastoral Council) Forming Disciples: We will call each member of the parish to commit to the following: 1. Pray for 10 minutes every day (5 minutes for children 3rd grade and younger) 2. Read 3 pages of some type of Catholic book every day. 3. Say something about your faith, the Pope, your parish, the church, Jesus, etc.. to at least one person each week. 4. Increase your offering by 1% over last year. 5. Participate in one pastoral outreach/service activity during the year. Individual Focus of the Pastor (Preach, Teach, Sanctify and Govern): Health and Holiness (Prayer and Accountability) Homily Preparation and Delivery Catechesis More focus on Sacramental Ministry Less focus on administrative activities.
