This document summarizes research conducted to evaluate and analyze the park shops plaza area, with the goal of rethinking its design. The research involved 3 phases: general observation through site analysis and interviews; focused observation through behavior maps, questionnaires, and photos/videos; and analysis and recommendations. Behavior mapping showed popular areas like the ledges and inefficient bench use. A questionnaire provided input on design proposals. Recommendations included improving pedestrian facilities along a thoroughfare, continuing the paving pattern to slow traffic, and improving existing ledge facilities with added seating. Limitations included a small sample size and not accounting for seasonal differences.
