This document outlines the 5 steps to determine the number and width of intervals in a histogram: 1) Calculate the number of intervals (K) using the square root of the number of data points, 2) Determine the range (R) by subtracting the minimum from the maximum data value, 3) Calculate the interval amplitude (A) by dividing the range by the number of intervals, 4) Establish the first interval with the lower and upper limits, 5) Construct the remaining intervals in a table.
