1) Pazham Pori is a Kerala-style crispy banana fritter made with ripe plantain, refined wheat flour, sugar, baking soda, salt, and turmeric powder mixed into a batter.
2) The plantain is sliced and dipped in the batter before deep frying in oil until golden brown.
3) The fried fritters are served hot as a tea time snack and can be flavored optionally with cumin or green cardamom.

Kerala Style Crispy Banana Fritter
Ingredients
1 Nos Ripe Plantain
100 gm Refined Wheat Flour or All purpose flour
20 gms sugar
A Pinch of baking soda
A pinch of salt
A pinch of turmeric powder
40- 50 ml water
Coconut oil to deep fry
Procedure
In a mixing bowl add flour sugar salt and baking soda, mix well.
Add water gradually to get a good batter consistency.
Add in a pinch of turmeric powder. This is only meant for the color and doesn't
change the taste or flavor in any way.
Optional you could add cumin powder or green cardamom powder..if you wish.
Cut the plantain into half and then slice each half midway vertically. Further slice
each of the quarters into 2-3 thin pieces.
Dip in the flour batter.and fry in hot oil .
Fry until golden brown and drain on paper napkins.
Serve Pazham Pori hot with tea or snack.
