Job Description:
Our client is looking for an experienced Upgrade Specialist who should have at least 7 years of
experience and thorough hands-on working knowledge of PeopleSoft Tools/HCM Upgrades, Change
Assistant, App Designer, Data Mover, SQR and SQL. The Upgrade Specialist will be responsible for
upgrading the current application to PeopleSoft HCM 9.1 on PeopleTools 8.51.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Handle all system technical aspects of PeopleSoft including Change assistant, migrations, tuning
migrations/upgrade scripts, application/web server architecture, integration broker and general
technical/DB troubleshooting.
• Work with Database Administrator (DBA), and System Administrator and application group to resolve
technical issues.
• Interface with the DBA group and set object level permissions for developers.
• Work on all phases of a project development, testing, go-live and configure databases to ensure
successful upgrade jobs.
• Monitor and tune the servers to achieve optimum performance levels.
• Provide support by troubleshooting and fine tuning performance issues related to entire PeopleSoft
Batch and Application server environments.
• Work on versioning/change management of PeopleSoft objects.
• Assist in hardware sizing, installation/setup and configuration of servers during and after upgrade for
optimization.
• Report/Escalate any issues affecting deliverables to the Project manager.
• Validate and log all technical upgrade steps.
• Create and maintain Upgrade related checklists to ensure a smooth completion.
• Report completed tasks, issues, and risks to the project manager.
• Install and manage Change Assistant and Environment Management Hub for the Upgrade.
• Execute, manage and document delivered upgrade scripts.
• Reapply code and security customizations to the upgraded environment.
• Provide expert troubleshooting for isolating technical / function problems.
• Manage PIA, Tuxedo Application Server Domain, Web Logic and Process Schedulers.
• Ensure PS environment health by resolving issues from system and data dictionary audits.
• Configure Application, Web and Batch server alerts and notifications.
• Troubleshoot server issues and monitor logs on a daily basis.
• Excellent analytical, verbal and written communication skills.
