Is your company able to find, focus, and keep
Talented People?
Performance & Compensation
Lets find out
A lesson from the sea
In 1707 there wasnt an accurate way to measure
longitude, captains relied on their estimation for
average speed to make sense how far east or west
they travelled, or dropped a log over the side of the
ship and timed how long it took to float.
 Captain Cloudesley Shovell misestimated the
longitude which led to the drown of the entire
fleet of British ships.1
Greatest maritime disaster
in British history!
The whole fleet drowned in 3 minutes.
No one on board the ship survived . 2000 were dead.
In todays business world
There are only few tools and they lack precision
such as Employee retention figures, number of
days to fill openings or lengthy employee opinion
surveys; however, these tools cannot effectively
tell whether a company is able to find, focus, and
keep talented people.
In other words these tools are the log dropped by
ships to measure longitude!
