This document provides design details for the landscaping and site elements of the Persimmon Place development. It includes plans and descriptions for the hardscaping, planting, seating, lighting, and other amenities throughout the property. Inspiration is drawn from the geometric pattern of a persimmon fruit, which is reflected in the paving, landscaping, and other design elements. The goal is to create an inviting public space that celebrates nature and the local environment.

Persimmon Place is an easy, appealing and engaging destination. Its a place where Northern California sensibilities meet the luxuries of life, a place for impromptu lunch
with friends, while a local band plays in the background. A place where the essential is made pleasurable.
Persimmon Place takes its cues from the beauty inherent in Natures forms. Against the sleek and modern massing of the buildings are juxtaposed patterns inspired by nature:
the section through a fruit is at once organic and geometric. Surprises throughout the landscape call forth again and again the spirit of the place.

SITE PLAN ENLARGEMENT - STORES 2 PLAZA
Inspiration for the paving and furnishings is provided by Nature, in the section through a persimmon fruit. The bold yet natural pattern
provides a dynamic focus for each pedestrian node. A large obelisk is marked with the name of the Center, creating a meeting place
lined with sinuous benches for casual people-watching.
Street trees line the main drive aisle, while small ornamental trees provide shade in the seating areas. At the margins, paving joints peel
up to form casual seating, to reveal low creeping greenery.

SITE PLAN ENLARGEMENT - WHOLE FOODS PLAZA
The hills west of Dublin inspire a raised area in the Whole Foods plaza. Gentle topographic
contours create a platform for cafe seating or small performances. The motif of geometry
is picked up in the vertical plane by dramatically bent light standards. In-plane board-
walks denote special paths and zones along the topographic lines.
The seating area for Whole Foods is defined by a series of oversize shade umbrellas and
curving planters, and a fire pit nestles in the center of a boardwalk seating arc.

SITE PLAN ENLARGEMENT - MONUMENT SIGN
Weathering steel creates a sinuous edging at the planted berms. Drought-tolerant, no-mow fescue grass is an elegant and
attention-grabbing method of greening the margins of the site.
In lieu of a traditional fountain, a sculpture of Corten steel planes is a modern and thought-provoking way to mark the Center.

The geometric paving patterns throughout the Center are picked out using concrete in a
saturated color, taking cues from the persimmon section design. Rows oftrees alternate with
low walls to set up a visual rhythm. Built-in bench seating offers an inviting place to rest.

SITE PLAN ENLARGEMENT - PAD 1 PATIO
String lights and dappled shade under a perfect specimen tree help lend a feeling of relaxation and
protection to the seating area on this exposed corner. The saturated persimmon branding color and
radial pattern is echoed in low walls and paving patterns. The low walls define the seating area and
offer a backed bench for the public area beyond. Colored concrete paving marks the zone as a
special place.
A weathered steel fin fronting a berm at the intersection provides a crisp edge to the embankment
and offers branding opportunities.

The radial persimmon pattern is echoed in the low, brightly colored backed benches at these seating areas outside Pad 3. Colorful and sculptural
sun umbrellas lend visual interest and welcome shade. Drought-tolerant California Lilac forms a dense protective edge at the parking lot, while
beguiling with texture and rich purples.
Flanking walls of the stormwater retention area are raised to become a seating opportunity, with a wood inset seat to provide warmth and comfort.

The southern entrance to the site is celebrated with distinctive light standards that
are self-powered by wind and solar energy. These alternate with street trees to rein-
force the Centers commitment to healthy and efficient suburban placemaking.
