Pests can contaminate and spoil food or carry disease. Main types of pests include insects, rodents, birds, and other mammals. To control and eliminate pests, thoroughly clean all areas and surfaces, wipe up spills immediately, cover and remove garbage frequently, and keep food covered or refrigerated. It is also important to prevent pests from entering by installing screens and self-closing doors, and to consult an exterminator if needed.
