Petr Šorš

Petr Sors has over 20 years of experience in information technology, receiving a Master's degree in Computer Science in 2012. He has extensive experience as an IT consultant, specializing in migration projects between different Windows platforms and Microsoft products. Some of his most notable projects include migrating over 200 servers across 30 countries from Windows 2003 to Windows 2012 for Deutsche Post DHL.

Implementation of new windows desktop services for Deutsche Post;  Oct. 2013 – Dec 2014.  Client: Deutsche Post DHL  Scale: 30k+ desktops; 300+ applications  Job description: design new services, related processes and SLAs; design new technical solutions for  domain integration, application migration, application packaging and deployment; extension of  existing standards; design implementation; hyper‐care support.  SW products and technologies predominately used: Symantec Management Platform 7.5; Microsoft  SQL Server 2012; Microsoft PowerShell; Microsoft Windows Server 2012 tools and services; Microsoft  Office products for documentation and presentation.  Migration of windows desktop services from Windows XP to Windows  7 Ent.; Jan. 2010 – Sept. 2013.  Client: Deutsche Post DHL  Location: Prague, global assignment.  Scale: 200k+ desktops; 700+ servers.  Job description: design of new structure of MS Active Directory objects; design of new standards for  new operating system, for application packaging and deployment; design and deployment of new  image; deployment of Symantec Management Platform components (client, server); administration of  “frontrunner” infrastructure.  SW products and technologies predominately used: Windows Server infrastructure, Windows 7 OS and  deployment tools; Symantec Management Platform 7.0; scripting; Wise Packaging Studio; MS Office  products for documentation and presentation purposes.  Implementation of Riverbed Steelhead infrastructure components  and reporting services; Sept. 2009 – Dec 2009.  Client: Deutsche Post DHL  Location: Prague, global assignment.  Scale: 20k+ desktops; 50+ servers; 200+ WAN optimizers.  Job description: comprehensive analysis and proof of concept of combination of Riverbed WAN  optimizers and Altiris Site Servers. Result presentation; solution design, implementation and  documentation. Hyper‐care support during and after implementation; creation of automated  performance and status reporting. 
SW products and technologies predominately used: Riverbed Steelhead, Altiris Notification Server 6.0.,  WireShark; MS Office products for documentation and presentation purposes.  Migration of Citrix services (published desktop/app); March 2009  – Aug. 2009.  Client: Deutsche Post DHL  Location: Prague and major cities in the Czech Republic.  Scale: 2k+ thin clients; 10+ servers.  Job description: design solution for migration of different types of Citrix clients amongst old and new  Citrix environments (published desktop, published applications)  SW products and technologies predominately used: Windows Command Shell; Visual Basic Script;  Altiris Deployment Server 6.8; MS Office products for documentation and presentation purposes.  Implementation of asset management and reporting automation (BI);  Oct. 2008 – Jan 2009.  Client: Deutsche Post DHL  Location: Prague, global assignment.  Scale: 200k+ desktops; 700+ servers.  Job description: design and implementation of automated solution for weekly asset status and  software inventory reports.   SW products and technologies predominately used: Microsoft SQL Server 2005, Reporting Services,  Analysis Services and Business Intelligence Services; MS Office products for documentation and  presentation purposes.  Implementation of Altiris Recovery solution; May 2008 – Oct 2008.  Client: Deutsche Post DHL  Location: Prague, global assignment.  Scale: 5k+ desktops; 20+ servers.  Job description: design technical solution based on Altiris Recovery Solution, for remote backup and  storage of user data from travelling users – laptop owners.   SW products and technologies predominately used: Altiris Notification Server 6.0, Altiris Recovery  Solution 6.0, NetApp Data Ontap, scripting and MS Office products for documentation and  presentation purposes.
