With a new senior management team in place,
including the divisional managing director,
urgent action was needed to drive and
coordinate the closure of one plant, transfer
assets and skills to two further sites and
ensure the effective ramp up of operations
in those sites.
The Assignment
A professional Interim project manager was
identified to review and revise the programme and
then implement class-leading practices that would
ensure the trouble free, effective, closure of one site,
and equally effective transfer of operations to the
other sites.
The Interim quickly implemented project monitoring
and reporting procedures across the three sites, acted
as “Prime Contractor” for the equipment move and
strip out at the site to be cleared, and coordinated
activity outsourcing of work during the transfer period.
