This document provides information about a photography elective class open to juniors and seniors. The class will introduce photography fundamentals and techniques to beginners while enhancing the skills of advanced students. Topics will include camera parts, exposure, composition, genres of photography, and advanced techniques. Throughout the year, students will participate in lectures, projects, photo shoots, and field trips. They will also complete weekly homework assignments requiring conceptualizing, shooting, editing, and critiquing photos.

Basics: camera parts, exposure, focal
lengths, and other fundamentals
Composition, imagery, semiotics
Genre photography (photojournalism,
documentary, fashion, sports, 鍖ne art,
travel, portraiture)
Advanced techniques

Lectures, discussions, and screenings
Brainstorming, projects, and critiques
A lot of photo shoots
2-3 out-of-school location shoots
(a.k.a. 鍖eldtrips)
