PhyloPic is an open database of life form silhouette images that uses Python, PostgreSQL, and Adobe Flex technologies. The database currently contains silhouette images that can be used in cladograms and maps generated by applications programming interfaces. Future plans include adding vector images, additional image categories like photographs and diagrams, image annotations, and more silhouette images.
