Swami Vivekananda demonstrated physical courage from a young age. As a child, he would play in a garden by swinging from tree branches, despite an old man warning his friends that the tree was guarded by a ghost. While his friends were frightened away, Swami Vivekananda convinced them to follow him as he climbed the tree and enjoyed it as usual, breaking branches to prove there was no ghost. This story illustrates that we should not let others' advice or irrational fears stop us from finding the truth ourselves through courageous action.

5. Swami Vivekananda Childhood Story
Even during his childhood Swami Vivekananda demonstrated several
courageous acts. One such incident is detailed here. He used to play in a
garden along with his friends, swinging his head down from the branches
of a tree. An old man who was the owner of the garden, finding his
remonstrations unheeded, once solemnly told Narendras (Swami
Vivekananda) friend that the tree was guarded by a white-robed ghost who
would certainly break their necks if they disturbed it. His friends were very
much frightened and kept away from the tree. But Narendra Persuaded
them to follow him and he climbed the tree, enjoying his usual measure of
fun and broke some branches as a proof of further mischief.
6. Many a time we let ourselves carried away by others advice and do not see
the necessity to find the truth by ourselves. Sometimes blind beliefs and
irrational fears cripple our mind and stop us from moving forward.
This incident from the childhood days of Swami Vivekananda shows us that
we should not retreat at the foolish advice of others, but act courageously
by finding out the truth ourselves.
