                             Class VI

Previous Knowledge:-

(1) Students have studied maths up to class V.

(2) They recognize the photographs.

(3) They recognize the circular shapes in the picture.

Objectives:-

(1) Students will know about the elements of the circle like radius of

the circle, centre, diameter, arc, and circumference of the circle.

(2) Students will know about the relation between the above elements.

(3) By measuring the pictures they will be able to use the relations

between the above given elements.

Material Required:-

Photographs, compass, scale, etc with the help of these, elements of

the circle will be taught and by measuring them their relations can be

find out .

Students understand the circular shape.

2. Students are taught: How to draw the circular figure.




Students draw the circular figure according to the picture.

3. Students are taught: How to draw a circle with the help of a compass.




Students draw circles with the help of compass according to the picture.
4. Students are taught: How to draw circles of different sizes with the help of a

compass.

radius of the circle.

the diameter and radius of the circle and find it is double the radius. iii. Radius is half

of the diameter.




9. Students are taught: Chord of the circle and also told that diameter is the largest

chord of the circle.

diameter of the circle and find that it the largest chord of the circle.
 10. Students are taught: Arc of the circle.




According to the picture students i. Make arc of the circle. ii. They understand the

major and minor arc of the circle.

According to the picture i. Students draw the semicircle. ii. They know that semicircle

is also arc.

measure the circumference with the help of thread.

more that the thrice of the diameter.
