Have question about what makes a Pin "fresh"? Wondering if you can only share an image or piece of content once? Is it OK to make new images for existing content? How can I get the most from my content on Pinterest. We break it all down.
2. Does everything I share
to Pinterest have to be
brand new? As in a new
URL AND image?
3. NO!
Nope. HOWEVER, all other things (relevance, Pin
design, quality) being equal, Pinterest states that this
is the most desirable content you can share.
Resharing content in moderation can still drive traffic,
but new URLs tend to drive the most.

5. NO!
NO! You can share a Pin to a few RELEVANT Boards to
give Pinterest more context. They’ll look at the Board
title, description, and other content on that Board to
better understand your Pins.

6. Is it BAD to create new
images for existing
content?
7. NO!
NO. Just be thoughtful. More for the sake of more is
not helpful. You don’t want to end up with 20 Pins all
showing up in the same search result. It looks spammy
and doesn’t provide a good user experience for
Pinners.
Instead, A/B test a couple of designs, and then
perhaps consider - is there another way to present
this content in a Pin so that it will appeal to a new
audience and appear in a different search?

10. A fresh Pin, as defined by Pinterest now, is a new
image for a URL

11. Wait - Does This
Mean I Have to
Blog 5 Times a
Day?
12. No! Most of us do not have time to do that. This
question may have come up because people thought
they heard that you can never share a Pin again, or
that it’s not good to make new Pins for existing
content.
Again, everything in moderation, with a focus on
quality over quantity.
Fresh URLs may produce the best results for you
(there are always exceptions), but you can still reshare
within reason and get results.

NO!
14. SURE! THESE ACTIVITIES ARE ALL FINE - WITHIN REASON.
>> A new image for a new URL
>> A new image for an existing URL -
with new context on your Pin and a
new title/description
>> A new image for an existing URL -
a new creative treatment for an
existing Pin
>> Resharing Pins that have already
been on Pinterest
