The realm of product design is a constantly changing environment where technology and style intersect. Every year introduces fresh challenges and exciting trends that mold the future of this captivating art form. In this piece, we delve into the significant trends set to influence the look and functionality of product design in the year 2024.
How Race, Age and Gender Shape Attitudes Towards Mental HealthThinkNow
油
Mental health has been in the news quite a bit lately. Dozens of U.S. states are currently suing Meta for contributing to the youth mental health crisis by inserting addictive features into their products, while the U.S. Surgeon General is touring the nation to bring awareness to the growing epidemic of loneliness and isolation. The country has endured periods of low national morale, such as in the 1970s when high inflation and the energy crisis worsened public sentiment following the Vietnam War. The current mood, however, feels different. Gallup recently reported that national mental health is at an all-time low, with few bright spots to lift spirits.
To better understand how Americans are feeling and their attitudes towards mental health in general, ThinkNow conducted a nationally representative quantitative survey of 1,500 respondents and found some interesting differences among ethnic, age and gender groups.
Technology
For example, 52% agree that technology and social media have a negative impact on mental health, but when broken out by race, 61% of Whites felt technology had a negative effect, and only 48% of Hispanics thought it did.
While technology has helped us keep in touch with friends and family in faraway places, it appears to have degraded our ability to connect in person. Staying connected online is a double-edged sword since the same news feed that brings us pictures of the grandkids and fluffy kittens also feeds us news about the wars in Israel and Ukraine, the dysfunction in Washington, the latest mass shooting and the climate crisis.
Hispanics may have a built-in defense against the isolation technology breeds, owing to their large, multigenerational households, strong social support systems, and tendency to use social media to stay connected with relatives abroad.
Age and Gender
When asked how individuals rate their mental health, men rate it higher than women by 11 percentage points, and Baby Boomers rank it highest at 83%, saying its good or excellent vs. 57% of Gen Z saying the same.
Gen Z spends the most amount of time on social media, so the notion that social media negatively affects mental health appears to be correlated. Unfortunately, Gen Z is also the generation thats least comfortable discussing mental health concerns with healthcare professionals. Only 40% of them state theyre comfortable discussing their issues with a professional compared to 60% of Millennials and 65% of Boomers.
Race Affects Attitudes
As seen in previous research conducted by ThinkNow, Asian Americans lag other groups when it comes to awareness of mental health issues. Twenty-four percent of Asian Americans believe that having a mental health issue is a sign of weakness compared to the 16% average for all groups. Asians are also considerably less likely to be aware of mental health services in their communities (42% vs. 55%) and most likely to seek out information on social media (51% vs. 35%).
AI Trends in Creative Operations 2024 by Artwork Flow.pdfmarketingartwork
油
Creative operations teams expect increased AI use in 2024. Currently, over half of tasks are not AI-enabled, but this is expected to decrease in the coming year. ChatGPT is the most popular AI tool currently. Business leaders are more actively exploring AI benefits than individual contributors. Most respondents do not believe AI will impact workforce size in 2024. However, some inhibitions still exist around AI accuracy and lack of understanding. Creatives primarily want to use AI to save time on mundane tasks and boost productivity.
Organizational culture includes values, norms, systems, symbols, language, assumptions, beliefs, and habits that influence employee behaviors and how people interpret those behaviors. It is important because culture can help or hinder a company's success. Some key aspects of Netflix's culture that help it achieve results include hiring smartly so every position has stars, focusing on attitude over just aptitude, and having a strict policy against peacocks, whiners, and jerks.

Google's Just Not That Into You: Understanding Core Updates & Search IntentLily Ray

1. Core updates from Google periodically change how its algorithms assess and rank websites and pages. This can impact rankings through shifts in user intent, site quality issues being caught up to, world events influencing queries, and overhauls to search like the E-A-T framework.
2. There are many possible user intents beyond just transactional, navigational and informational. Identifying intent shifts is important during core updates. Sites may need to optimize for new intents through different content types and sections.
3. Responding effectively to core updates requires analyzing "before and after" data to understand changes, identifying new intents or page types, and ensuring content matches appropriate intents across video, images, knowledge graphs and more.

latach 60. systematycznie wydu甜aa si lista koniecznych uzgodnie, a甜 w 1969 roku
nale甜ao uzyskiwa pozytywn opini i zezwolenie od: dzielnicowego architekta,
waciciela budynku, projektanta budynku, konserwatora zabytk坦w (w przypadku
obiektu zabytkowego), komisji Pracowni Sztuk Plastycznych, projektanta elektryka,
projektanta konstruktora, kierownika technicznego wykonawcy, miejskiego wydziau
architektury i specjalistycznej komisji w Urzdzie Miasta.
architektury, co powodowao, 甜e czsto realizacja neonu moga trwa do trzech lat.
Biurokracja i popularno neonowych reklam przyczyniy si do ekonomicznej
niewydolnoci zakadu Reklama". Sta si on niejako ofiar wasnego sukcesu. Liczne
inspekcje i niepomylnie zakoczone kontrole finansowe doprowadziy do jego
likwidacji w 1971 roku. Rok p坦添niej zao甜ono w jego miejsce Stoeczne
do 1993 roku.
4. ARTYCI
Pikno neon坦w, kt坦re zaczy ozdabia ulice Warszawy po 1956 roku,
zawdziczamy wybitnym tw坦rcom. Dziki dokumentacji, kt坦ra si
zachowaa, mo甜emy pozna autor坦w poszczeg坦lnych projekt坦w i w ten
spos坦b przyczyni si do wypenienia luki w dziejach polskiego wzornictwa.
na trwae weszy do historii polskiej sztuki u甜ytkowej. Warto przypomnie
wszystkich. Warszawskie neony projektowali wybitni architekci i graficy,
midzy innymi: Jan Mucharski, Jan Bogusawski, Bohdan Gniewiewski,
neoniarze" - Tadeusz Rogowski, Maksymilian Krzy甜anowski, Zbigniew
Labes, a tak甜e Marek Brudnicki, Stefan Bernaciski i Ryszard Lech.
5. CIEMNA STRONA NEONW
Niezmiennie sabym
punktem bya technologia produkcji elektrod. Realizacja neonu Jubiler z ulicy Puawskiej i nie obya si bez
problem坦w. Sp坦r midzy zleceniodawc a wykonawc o z jako neonu trwa a甜 p坦 roku. Neon
czynio go niezwykle zachwycajcym i pomysowym, jednak dosy trudnym w wykonaniu.
Zdarzao si te甜, 甜e dworzec kolejowy Warszawa G坦wna na wiele dni traci liter ", co nadawao mu
wyjtkowo niefortunnej wymowy. Tak甜e nadmiernie zbiurokratyzowany proces napraw neon坦w przynosi
wiele problem坦w ich wacicielom. Wniosek o napraw wpywa do usugodawcy dopiero po dw坦ch
tygodniach od powstania awarii. Z kolei p坦roczna gwarancja czsto bya zbyt kr坦tka, a p坦添niejsze naprawy
zbyt drogie.
ulicy Kubusia Puchatka 9 w Warszawie.
Dy甜urowao w nim pogotowie mechanik坦w na wypadek awarii neonowych. Wprowadzono stay objazd po
ulicach miast, by jak najwczeniej wyapywa wszelkie awarie i zapobiega figlom neon坦w". Jednoczenie
intensywnie ulepszano rozwizania techniczne, w czym pom坦c miaa powoana w 1962 roku przy PUR
Reklama" Rada Techniczna. Pracowano tam nad technologi proszkowania szka i lepsz jakoci obudowy
skrzy transformatorowych. W centrali przedsibiorstwa gromadzono wszystkie wzory oraz fotografie
szyld坦w w celu racjonalnego ujednolicenia profilu produkcji neon坦w.
wy甜szy. Niestety w drugiej poowie lat 60. gorsza sytuacja gospodarcza Polski zahamowaa rozw坦j wietlnej
reklamy, a pienidzy brakowao nawet na naprawy.
6. LATA 60.
Ponadto ustalono, 甜e nale甜y
produkowa wicej neon坦w w kolorach biaych i pastelowych (efekt delegacji oficjeli do Pary甜a). Wskazano,
Przychylnie natomiast
patrzono na umieszczanie mniejszych neon坦w wewntrz sklep坦w.
Stowarzyszenie Architekt坦w Polskich i Zwizek Polskich Artyst坦w Plastyk坦w ustaliy list projektant坦w
upowa甜nionych do projektowania neon坦w. Zalecono r坦wnie甜, by usun tak zwanych monopolist坦w-
Lata 60. to tak甜e czasy dominacji PUR .Reklama". Aby unikn nieporozumie i konkurencji midzy
najwikszymi producentami neon坦w: Reklam", Spojni" i,Lumenem", wadze pastwowe postanowiy
odg坦rnie przydziela im zadania, a uprzywilejowany status Reklamy" zosta zatwierdzony na konferencji w
1960 roku przez Ministerstwo Handlu Wewntrznego. Zakad sta si g坦wnym wykonawc neon坦w dla
pastwowych organizacji handlowych, a harmonogram prac by ustalany przez Ministerstwo.
Przedsibiorstwo Usug Reklamowych Reklama inicjowao nowatorskie na polskim rynku rozwiazania, takie
jak chocia甜by zorganizowanie pod koniec 1961 roku pracowni psychologicznej. Zatrudniono w niej dw坦ch
psycholog坦w, kt坦rych zadaniem byo prowadzenie bada nad struktur treci hase reklamowych (w tym
Analizowano tak甜e relacj midzy czasem decyzji klienta a sugestywnoci treci reklam i neon坦w.
7. LATA 70
Ju甜 w 1969 roku wadze zleciy miejskim wydziaom
opracowanie szkic坦w projektowych neonizacji dzielnic. Powsta program perspektywiczny rozwoju reklam
neonowych, kt坦ry przedstawiono do akceptacji najwy甜szym 坦wczesnym wadzom, czyli sekretarzowi Polskiej
Zjednoczonej Partii Robotniczej (PZPR). Projekt zosta przyjty i stanowi podstaw do dalszych dziaa. Wraz
W 1970 roku zlikwidowano Komisj ds. Koordynacji Reklamy, kt坦ra dziaaa przy wydziale urbanistyki w
Urzdzie Miasta. W jej miejsce w 1973 roku powoano Midzyresortow Rad Reklamy pod auspicjami
Ministerstwa Handlu Wewntrznego. Powoano r坦wnie甜 nowy urzd Naczelnego Plastyka Warszawy, kt坦ry w
miejsce uprzednio dziaajcego Naczelnego Architekta wydawa ostateczne pozwolenia na monta甜 neon坦w.
Gr坦jeckiej.
neon坦w lat 50.
8. LATA 1980-1989
Lata 80. to koniec epoki neon坦w, kt坦re znikay z polskich ulic z wielu powod坦w. Przede
neon坦w pozosta tak甜e powolny, lecz stay rozkad ekonomiczny i polityczny PRL-u, a
czasie sprowadzone neony) staa si potrzeb drugiej kategorii. Cho produkcja reklam
wietlnych trwaa nadal, neony byy ubo甜sze i oszczdne. Brakowao pienidzy na
regularne naprawy, w efekcie czego - niegdy pikne i dekoracyjne neony - straszyy
niekompletnymi napisami.
Zmian w postrzeganiu reklam wietlnych, kt坦re przed laty nadaway wielkomiejski sznyt
stolicy, zapocztkowao dopiero Muzeum Neon坦w. Do niedawna jeszcze zapomniane i
zdewastowane neony, dzisiaj na nowo ciesz swym blaskiem. Niestety, czsto ju甜 nie w
swoich oryginalnych miejscach, a na cianach wystawowych muzeum. Potrzeba byo
wiele wysiku, by tchn 甜ycie w t niemodn ju甜 przecie甜 reklam.
