The music at the start of serial is mysterious, it shows the audience that the story is starting and it will be a mystery story, which it was. This music was repeated throughout the podcast in some sections. The dialogue is the narrator talking about a guy who got arrested and sentenced to prison for murder. She is trying to find out the truth, so the dialogue is mainly facts and some opinions. There was some phone call sound as well in the dialogue from different people such as the guy in prison. When she talks about the death the music becomes slower which sets the mood to the audience as sad. The music comes on again and is upbeat when the narrator is about to tell us more evidence, this gives us hope that we will find out if the guy is guilty or not. she showed audio interviews which had a voiceover because there was a bit of music in the background. Sometimes the sound quality is bad and that’s because it’s a phone call. They didn’t edit the phone call to make it sound a bit better. This implies they are trying to show the audience that it is a true story. The mood of the story is tension because she is trying to find the truth out about the murder with interviews which creates tension because people can help a lot or be no help at all and we want to hear her find out the truth. The aural sound of the podcast is distinctive because they use the same theme songs to create brand identity.
