Polar bears
The polar bear or white bear is a species of carnivorous mammal of
the bear family. His scientific name is Ursus Maritimous.His
gestation period to last 195 ¨C 265. They measure 2m and they have
long, Male: 2.4 ¨C 3m (adult) or Female: 1.8 ¨C 2.4m (adult).
CUBS:
WEIGH: 0.5 ¨C 1kg
For at least 20 months, cubs drink their mother¡¯s milk and depend
on her for survival.
In the Low Artic weaning occurs as cubs approach their second
birthday. Cubs in the high artic generally receive an additional year
of care.
HOW ARE THE POLAR BEARS AFFECTED BY GLOBAL
WARMING?
? Decreasing population size
? Sea ice platforms are separated and producing more
dangerous conditions for swimming
? There are few opportunities for increases hunting and food
scarcity
WHAT FOOD DO THEY EAT?
They eat article animals for example:
