PORTABLE FISH MEAL PRODUCTION UNIT Kishan Singh, Karan Arya College of Fisheries, G . B. Pant University of Agriculture & Technology, Pantnagar - 263145, U.S. Nagar, Uttarakhand. Introduction Fish meal is an essential part of aquaculture, which provides nutrition for farmed fishes. The fish meal accounts for about 60 -80% of the production cost of the farmers. It is the most important factor influencing the growth of fish. High fish meal cost is a major problem faced by a farmers. Due to various environmental factors fishes dies and it reduces income of the farmers. To tackle this issue we have come with a new innovation idea of portable fish meal production unit .in this system we will take a pickup truck and install various types of machineries which will convert fish waste and slaughter house waste into fish meal poultry feed and fertilizer. The perks of our model are : 1. The fish waste which was earlier thrown away is now used to make fish meal. 2. It is portable so can be used at any place, at any time. 3. Economically feasible Easier to setup and economically more feasible. 4. People will get money for their fish waste which they used to throw away. Description Filtration system A large cemented filter tank containing three chambers for various treatments of fish tank drainage . Components of the model 1) Cooking machine This is a portable cooking machine. It can process 100kg of fish waste. 2)Pressing machine It extract oil and water from cooked fish. This machine consist of a piston & operated mechanically by hand. 3)Oil water separator machine The oil and water obtained from the fish waste is than poured into the oil water separator. Due to difference in density of oil and water. The oil will float on water. We can easily separate both of them manually. 4)Drying machine This is a very simple air blower. It will use to the processed fish waste. 5)Hammer mill grinder This machine is alternative of crushing machine. It will be use to break processed fish waste into smaller particle so that it can be used as fish meal.
