The document summarizes a master plan project to revitalize an unused railroad tunnel in Columbia, SC by turning it into a bicycle hub. This project was located in Columbia, SC in an area called the vista. It involved creating a masterplan of the existing site that revived the unused
railroad tunnel into a area that invited bicyclists and people wanting to have an active lifestyle in the city. Part of the masterplanning involved
creating a bicycle hub that allowed people to rent bicycles for trips around town or store their back there. The following pages showcase the
bicycle hub. The design of the bicycle hub was very simple like the bicyle, and the structure was what made the building beautiful. The design
was also influenced by the railroad.

This project was to create a headquarters for a bicycle sharing system in downtown
Clemson that would also serve as a short term boarding school for students interest-
ed in learning the mechanics and skill of bicycle building. The design of this build-
ing was driven by the structure of the bicycle. The structure is visible on the outside
creating a simple design, mimicking the bicycle. This design was also driven by the
idea of voids and solids. The front facade was creating with several series of curtain
walls that allows the passerby to see into the building in several locations.
