Definition of Vocational English (VE): education that prepares trainees for jobs or careers at
certain levels or position like engineering, accountancy, pharmacist, etc.
English in Specific Purpose (ESP)
Definition of English in Specific Purpose: education
The differences between VE and ESP
VE : teach on all of skills
ESP : teach on specific skiils, specific purpose.
TVE : specific need of student. Student have to mastered all of skills that given by
school.
ESP : specific need of student in achieve particular skill. Student only mastered in
one skill that they need.

Behaviorism

skills while solving these problems. Constructivism explains why students dont

knowledge to other knowledge and its depending on their individual.
Course Design

teaching-learning experienced.
And the aim is to lead the learners to a particular state of knowledge. The entails the
use of theoretical and empiritical information available to produce a syllabus to

DIRECT METHOD
Beliefs to teach language

Direct Method (DM) called Natural Method as its based on the way children learn
their native language. So, DM is the method that use one language on subject study.
The aims of DM is to establish the direct bond between tough and expressions
between experienced and language practice.
The main features of teaching in VE:
- Only the use of target language is allowed in class.
- Students are encouraged to think in the target language.
- Grammar should be though in deductively (general-specific) implicitly.
- Based on sound principles of education. It believes in introducing the particular
before general, concrete before abstract, practice before theory.
- The teacher should demonstrate not translating or explain
- Vocabulary should be learned in full sentence rather than memorizing word lists.
