Portugalete is a town located west of Bilbao in northern Spain's Basque Country region. It has a population of over 51,000 people and is part of the Bilbao metropolitan area. Portugalete was founded in 1522 and industrialized in the 19th century with the arrival of railroads and construction of bridges. The town is famous for its Vizcaya Bridge, a transporter bridge that carries vehicles across the Nervión River, and was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Portugalete also has several festivals, monuments, schools including Ballonti high school, and sports teams such as football which recently celebrated its 100-year anniversary.

Alverca do Ribatejo is a parish that belongs to Lisbon, it is where we live and
has a distance of 25 km to Lisbon.
The number of habitants in Alverca is 36,465 and is crossed by the river Tejo.

Alverca was part of a medieval
municipality that was extinct in 1855,
but later became the most popular city
in Vila Franca de Xira. In the past, it was
called the "green city" because of the
tree-lined streets and its immense
green spaces.
The most attractive places are: the Air

Thursday of the cob is celebrated 40 days
after Easter and it's customary for people
to go and pick the branch from the field:
Marigold, rosemary, poppy, olive, wheat
and vine.
When you get home, you place the branch
behind the front door for good luck.

Cluster
The Bom Sucesso cluster is located in
Alverca do Ribatejo and has 3 schools: E B 1
2 3 Bom Sucesso, which has students from 6
to 14 years old; EB 1 Arcena, which has
students from 6 to 10 years old; and the
kindergarten, which has students from 3 to
6 years old.
At the main school we also have students
attending the Cookery and Carpentry
education and training courses.
In total, we have around 940 students and
100 teachers.
