Possible Record Label 2

Columbia Records is an American record label, owned by Sony Music Entertainment,
operating under the Columbia Music Group. It was founded in 1888, evolving from an earlier
enterprise, the American Graphophone Company. Columbia is the oldest brand name in pre-
recorded sound, being the first record company to produce pre-recorded records as
opposed to blank cylinders.

Columbia Records went on to release records by an array of notable singers,
instrumentalists, and bands. From 1961 to 1990, its recordings were released outside the
U.S. and Canada on the CBS Records label before adopting the Columbia name in most of
the world.

the largest of the three flagship labels owned by Sony Music (followed by RCA Records with 77
artists and Epic Records with 43 artists).

   • Beyoncé Knowles

   • Kate Bush

   • Cher

   • Celine Dion

   • Aretha Franklin

   • Katy B (Rinse FM/Columbia Records)

   • Alicia Keys

   • Paul McCartney (US and Canada)

   • George Michael

   • Wham!

   • Adele

This would be an ideal record label for our artist to be signed to if she wanted to break
America and get her music known over there which is very popular and a lot of British artist
do it successfully again like Adele. With other singer/songwriter such as Alicia Keys who is
known for this so this shows it is possible and popular for singer/songwriters in America and
this label is one of the top 3 labels so would be perfect.
