This is a poster I had to create for one of my communication classes. Our assignment was to profile an Alumni of Winona State and see how they are using their Communications Degree today.
The document profiles prospective BYU students who are highly motivated, involved in extracurricular activities, and achieve academic excellence. They are competitive and goal-oriented, excelling in various pursuits. While primarily high school students, some may be transfers. They are focused on getting into and preparing for BYU, and are very social but dedicate significant time to studying. The profiles aim to understand how to provide information to help students like Sam and Susan learn about BYU's admission requirements, programs, costs, and financial aid.
Sarah Edith Buyeske enjoys outdoor hobbies like fishing and spending time with friends. She has experience in roles demonstrating compassion as a CAN volunteer and understanding as a Sunday School teacher. Buyeske found her calling as a public relations specialist and has a strong work ethic, having worked since age 14 in jobs developing her interpersonal skills.
Tomas Finnsson discusses the importance of universal primary education. He notes that education was highly valued in his home and he sees the benefits of learning and furthering one's knowledge. In Washington, many students do not try their best in high school when their parents do not value education or their friends do not. Tomas suggests focusing more on helping students discover their passions to motivate them. He contributes by tutoring and encouraging friends to see college is about education, not just partying. Social media can be used positively as an educator by exposing people to new ideas each day.
The document discusses Hossein Karagah's experience as a volunteer for Mira Costa College's Effective Living Skills Class. The class helps disabled students gain independence by developing self-esteem, social skills, communication abilities, and working with computers. Volunteering provided Karagah with the opportunity to help students, make new friends, gain experience, and feel satisfied by helping others.
David Diamond outlines the multiple roles of an effective academic advisor:
First, advisors must be prepared to act as first responders to students in crisis, showing compassion and making appropriate referrals. Second, they must be able to communicate cross-culturally, particularly with international students. Third, advisors should serve as academic life coaches by helping students discover pathways that align with their goals and interests. Additionally, advisors must fulfill their traditional role of ensuring students meet graduation requirements while also advocating for students and representing the institution. Ultimately, advisors contribute to creating a more educated society through their important public service role.
This document profiles Gretchen, a 23-30 year old female graduate student pursuing a Masters in Brand Management. She balances her social life with school and internships while relying on her parents, grants, and loans for income. Gretchen uses social media frequently and likes to spend time with friends. She seeks a place like Starbucks that offers food, drinks, WiFi and a space to both study alone or in groups and grab a quick coffee in the mornings to help her manage her busy schedule and stay awake to study while maintaining her GPA.
A proposed class to support our college students who are the most technologically advanced. However, stats state they are the highest unemployed and use social media for mostly personal reasons.

Dental caries is a process where plaque develops on tooth surfaces and interacts with the dental tissue, resulting in demineralization and softening of enamel and dentine. It is caused by the metabolic activity of bacteria in the biofilm as they convert sugars into acid. The carious process cannot be prevented, but disease progression can be controlled through limiting plaque formation and dietary carbohydrates, and enhancing remineralization with saliva and fluoride.
