- 1. Survachka is one of the national symbols of Bulgaria. Each year New Year's day, we Bulgarian began the year with the traditional custom for health, fertility and good luck. One of the most significant folklore performances in Razlog is the Kukeri or Murmur,s Carnival , which is held on the firs day of the New Year and attracts thousands of visitors from around the country and abroad. For more than 1000 year, were in Bulgaria have celebrated our holiday on March 1st called Grandma March. Bulgarian wear a small special ornament mage of red and white yarn on this day, called Martenitsa.
