The students will learn running skills and about the food guide pyramid. They will discuss healthy breakfast choices like cereal with berries and milk versus less healthy options like pancakes with syrup and butter. The students will then play a game called "FishingForGood Nutrition" where they use fishing poles to retrieve food cards from hula hoops and run back to discuss which foods they caught are healthy breakfast options.
2. Physical Education and Nutrition UnitNutritionToday, the students will learn locomotor skills such as running. The skill will be demonstrated and performed by all students. The students will also learn about the food guide pyramid and how to choose a healthy breakfast.

5. The students will play FishingForGood NutritionThe students will divide into groups and each group will be placed around a hula-hoop.
6. In each hula-hoop there will be food cards with paper clips attached to them and each student will fish for the food cards with pictures of breakfast food on them with fishing poles that have magnets attached on the end of the poles.
7. Once the students have retrieved all the food cards, each group will race back to their personal spaces. This exercises the locomotor skill of running.
8. After every group is back to their personal spaces, then the entire class will discuss what they caught. Each group will determine which breakfast foods are healthy and non- healthy choices.An example of a healthy breakfast would be: a bowl of oat cereal and berries on top with some milk.An example of a non- healthy breakfast would be: pancakes with syrup and butter.
